I like this because it illuminates that even the seemingly benign dictionary definition shows a disregard for men. Saying that Feminism’s goal is to achieve equalilty of women with men implies that in the past men were above women and now men need to come down. That is not only wrong but it takes away men’s humanity and makes them vulnerable in all the areas that men’s rights activists (and also many women on here) are highlighting. In the past men were not above women, but men had certain advantages and many challenges and likewise women had other advantages and challenges. We were all oppressed by nature. It was the industrial revolution that freed us from that oppression and made it possible for us to live more flexible roles. But Feminism has really only fought for more flexible roles for women and has actually made men’s roles even more rigid than they were before. I oppose Feminism because I want both men’s and women’s challenges and advantages to be recognised and both of them given greater scope for a more flexible lifestyle.

That is saying men UNDOUBTEDLY were above women, as in having more rights and freedom (and still are in many Countries) and that women need to go UP.

In the past men OWNED women as property. In the past men could vote and go outside to work, while women could never leave without a man and had no rights. Men could become doctors and politicians, women could not. In the past men could rape and kill their wives and daughters. In the past men were considered superior and dominant, while women should remain submissive. In the past men just decided women had no souls, no mental capacity. Just o and read these thousands of books from ancient times and you will see.
Were men oppressed? Absolutely! Because of their race, class, religion, etc. These men in unprivileged groups have always suffered. Now will you really try to compare this to what women have suffered, in the same aspects? Please, stop.
And how did feminism make men’s roles even more rigid than before? How are men’s roles more rigid than before in any way?

    • Don’t know which planet you live on but on earth men did never treat women the way that you described. If you truly this you should urgently emigrate to Venus or some women only planet.
